Mortgage Tip - Did you know that PMI (mortgage insurance)on investment properties NEVER goes away? The Homeowner's Protection Act is only applicable to primary residences and the rule only speaks to that occupancy type. Nowhere in the HPA does it cover second homes or investment properties.

So, if you have investment properties or a second home that is financed, contact me today to determine if you have reached an LTV below the 80% benchmark and let's get them refinanced and get rid of the MI.

Headline is a bit misleading. As Fannie says they will allow a higher Debt to Income ratio, other regulations will need to change in order to implement the change for banks and credit unions. Credit Score, down payment and reserves (the amount you have left in savings after closing). Are a huge factor in getting approved. If you want to get pre-approved let me know, I would be happy to sit down with you and put you on the path to home ownership.

Fannie Mae is changing its debt-to-income ratios next month. And if you are a home buyer, you should pay close attention.
