TRUE STORY:
There are a lot of reasons someone can end up with an account in collections—and it doesn’t mean they’re a bad person. Sometimes it simply means life got messy, timing was off, and they needed the right moment (and the right help) to straighten things out.
In mid-December, Daniel called Checkmark Collections about a balance with a local credit union. He’d been working with a debt settlement company and was frustrated that things weren’t moving forward.
