We couldn't have said this better ourselves. . . We don't know who wrote this, but it is accurate. The truth about the Affordable Care Act better known as ObamaCare.

“I am so tired of hearing about Obama Care when people do not understand the facts behind expected reimbursement from an insurance to a healthcare chain. I have worked on the reimbursement side in healthcare for 20+ years and Obama Care is TERRIBLE. Just having an insurance card with your name on it does not cover the financial portion of your bill. Obama Care leaves people with 10k+ deductibles to be met prior to paying out a dime. Unless you have a catastrophic event you are better off going in as uninsured and receive the uninsured discount. Most hospitals will adjust up to 85% and will negotiate even further. If you are financial unable to pay you can file for assistance and your bill will be adjusted if you are within certain guidelines. Every hospital files for uncompensated care yearly with their state. The state then evaluates the dollar amount and distributes funding to each hospital. This used to be how traditional Medicaid rates were gauged each year but most states have moved to lump sum payment which can be upwards of 2-10m. This is called cost reporting or DSH. If you could not afford to pay for Obama Care you were PENALIZED when filing your taxes. Does anyone recall that fact? Trump removed that penalty so people had a choice to not pay an insurance premium and still have a 10k+ deductible. I agree Trump runs his mouth but he has come to bat for those that cannot- the struggling paycheck to paycheck families.”
