A great way to save some money on your car insurance is to put your "extra" car into storage. I don't mean trying to drive it into a self storage unit. I mean you can have your insurance agent drop the coverage to "Comprehensive" only. This would mean it would have coverage if something happened to it while it is parked, but not to drive it around. You would have to call your agent to put the other coverages back on to make it legal to drive.
I know that sounds like a hassle but... it can save you hundreds of dollars. I have a client with a 23-year-old pickup. It usually costs
$595 per year to insure. When he has me drop his coverage to
comprehensive only it drops to $29 per year.
So if you have an extra car that isn't used very often, or you can consolodate you driving to all but one car-- you can save a lot of
your hard earned cash!
