It’s that time of the year when ghosts, goblins, and – unfortunately – increased property claims come out of the woodwork 👻

Here are a few reminders on how to keep your home and neighbors safe on Halloween:

🎃 If you’re putting up decorations, be mindful of extension cords, open flames, or anything that could be hazardous to children who approach your home.

🎃 Don’t use real candles in your pumpkins, and avoid open flames. Battery-operated candles and glow sticks work just as well as the real thing and reduce the risk of a house fire.

🎃 Be mindful of pets on your property. If you have furry friends, they may not be used to large crowds approaching your front door and/or ringing the doorbell.

🎃 Halloween is the fifth biggest holiday for stolen cars, according to the most recent data. If you don’t have a garage, find an area with good visibility to reduce theft or vandalism risk.
