Medicare Monday: When turning 65, your Initial Enrollment Period (IEP) spans 7 months: starting 3 months before your 65th birthday, including the month of your birthday, and ending 3 months after. If you miss this window, you may face late enrollment penalties unless you qualify for a Special Enrollment Period. Here are the important decisions you will need to make regarding your Medicare Coverage:

Part A (Hospital Insurance): Free for most people (if you paid Medicare taxes for at least 10 years). It is generally advised to enroll in Part A when first eligible.

Part B (Medical Insurance): This requires a monthly premium. If you do not have qualifying employer coverage, you must enroll during your 7-month IEP to avoid a penalty of 10% for every 12-month period you could have had it but didn't.

Private Coverage: Once you have Original Medicare (Parts A and B), you must choose how you want to receive your coverage:
- Medicare Supplement (Medigap): Helps cover out-of-pocket costs.
- Medicare Advantage (Part C): All-in-one plans that replace Original Medicare.
- Part D: Prescription drug coverage

It is with a heavy heart that we share the passing of Otto Prillwitz.

Otto was more than a dedicated agent, he was a cornerstone of our community. His passion for serving others, especially seniors, was evident in every conversation, every enrollment, and every relationship he built. He carried himself with integrity, compassion, and a genuine desire to make a difference.

His impact will be felt for years to come, not only in the lives of the clients he helped, but in the example he set for all of us in this industry.

We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Rest in peace, Otto. You will be greatly missed.
