Simply put, OEP allows CURRENT Medicare Advantage members to make a one-time change to a new MA or MAPD plan or return to Original Medicare. Why has Covid-19 had an effect on patients being able to see primary care doctors and specialists? It's due to clinics trying to limit the number of patients in their offices and opting for telemedicine appointments instead. Telemedicine appointments are done virtually over a cell phone, tablet, or computer. However, this can be tricky for seniors not comfortable with technology. Why is it that seniors are especially susceptible to the Coronavirus? The reason is because older adults are more likely to have underlying health conditions such as heart failure, diabetes, lung, or kidney disease. The CDC recommends that seniors avoid exposure by staying home. Thus, this is a friendly reminder from your local Medicare agent to help your aging parents, grandparents, friends and neighbors over 65. Pick them up some extra goods when at the market or give them a call and boost their spirits. Collectively we can ensure the well being of our senior population!
