Citizens is the market of last resort and Florida’s carrier. Most people are under the impression that they want Citizens quotes because they are less expensive or better but this is a misconception. We write through Citizens but we will do our best to find you carriers that are backed up by the state. In the event of huge claims Citizens can send loss assessments to all of their policy holders. Even though they are the state’s carrier they are not backed up by the state but by their policyholders with loss assessments. We represent more than 75 carriers.
