Bender Safety & Training Corporation is seeking one or more fire departments to participate in a vehicle extrication training exercise for students enrolled in our Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) programs.
The training exercise is being planned for either Saturday, August 8, 2026, or Sunday, August 9, 2026, with the final date to be determined based on participating agencies' availability. Lunch will be provided for all participating personnel.
This event will provide students with realistic, hands-on experience working alongside fire and rescue personnel during simulated motor vehicle crash incidents. Participating departments will be asked to bring their rescue equipment and personnel to demonstrate and perform vehicle stabilization, access, disentanglement, and extrication techniques while students participate in patient care and scene operations.
To enhance the educational value of the exercise, scenarios may incorporate simulated patients, emergency lighting, fog, sound effects, bystander distractions, and other realistic environmental factors designed to replicate the challenges encountered during actual emergency responses.
While we are willing to discuss alternative arrangements if necessary, we are respectfully requesting that the exercise be held at our training center in Weedville, Pennsylvania. Our students travel from communities throughout Pennsylvania to attend our programs, and holding the exercise at our primary training location helps ensure maximum student participation while minimizing travel burdens.
This event offers an opportunity for fire departments to assist in the education of future EMS providers while promoting interagency cooperation, teamwork, and understanding of rescue and patient care operations.
