Can you buy or sell a house without an agent?
Of course.
You can also cut your own hair, fix your own plumbing, and represent yourself in court. Sometimes it works out just fine.
But most people don’t realize how much happens behind the scenes in a real estate transaction.
Inspections, appraisals, financing, title issues, disclosures, repairs, contract deadlines, negotiations… there are a lot of moving pieces, and one misunderstanding can cost you time, money, or even the deal.
I’ve seen buyers overpay because they didn’t know what was negotiable. I’ve seen sellers leave money on the table because they didn’t understand the market. I’ve seen deals fall apart over issues that could have been avoided with the right guidance.
A good agent isn’t there to unlock doors or put a sign in the yard.
They’re there to help protect your interests, answer questions you didn’t know to ask, and help you avoid mistakes that can be expensive.
When you’re making one of the biggest financial decisions of your life, having someone in your corner matters.
A good agent’s value isn’t measured by the things you see, it’s measured by the problems you never have to deal with.
Who you work with matters.
