☕️ Don’t toss those morning coffee grounds! ☕️

Since we are gearing up for National Garden Week, I’ve been looking into eco-friendly ways to help our plants thrive. It turns out, your morning brew is a goldmine for your garden!

Who loves a caffeine boost? 🧪 Coffee grounds are acidic and nitrogen-rich. They are "Superfood" for acid-loving plants like: ✅ Outdoor: Roses, Blueberries, Azaleas, and Hydrangeas (it can even turn your hydrangeas blue! 💙). ✅ Indoor: African Violets, Jade plants, Peace Lilies, and Christmas Cacti.

Pro Tip: If you have "neutral" plants like Pothos or Spider plants, don't overdo it! A little goes a long way. Think of it like a vitamin—perfect once a month, but too much of a good thing can be, well, too much.

Tell me below: Do you have a "green thumb" or are you more of a "hope it stays alive" kind of plant parent? 😂👇 I personally DO NOT have a green thumb. I will be using this tip for myself.

💊 Struggling with the cost of prescriptions? You might qualify for "Extra Help!" 💊

Many people on Medicare don't realize they could save thousands of dollars each year on their monthly premiums, annual deductibles, and co-pays. If your income and resources are limited, this program is for you.

Here is your step-by-step guide to applying:

Step 1: Check Your Eligibility
For 2026, you generally qualify if your monthly income is below $2,015 (single) or $2,725 (married), and your total assets (savings, stocks, bonds) are within the program limits. Note: Your home, car, and life insurance policies don't count as assets!

Step 2: Gather Your Documents
Before you start the application, have these ready for you and your spouse: ✅ Social Security card ✅ Bank statements (checking, savings, CDs) ✅ Information on any stocks, bonds, or IRAs ✅ Tax returns or payroll slips

Step 3: Choose Your Filing Method
You can apply in three different ways—choose the one that’s easiest for you: 💻 Online (Fastest): Go to www.ssa.gov/extrahelp. The online application is secure and lets you save your progress. 📞 By Phone: Call Social Security at 1-800-772-1213 (TTY 1-800-325-0778). 📍 In Person: Visit your local Social Security office.

Step 4: Watch Your Mail
After you apply, Social Security will review your information and mail you a letter (usually within 4–6 weeks) to let you know if you qualify.

This Memorial Day, we pause to honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation. Their courage and selflessness have protected the freedoms we hold dear, and their legacy lives on in the spirit of our country.

I am deeply grateful for the heroes who served and the families who carry their memory. Today, we reflect on the true meaning of this day—honoring the fallen and expressing our eternal gratitude.

Wishing you and your family a peaceful and meaningful Memorial Day weekend.

🌲 Product of the Month: Foresters Financial

When I look for life insurance for my clients, I look for companies that offer "hidden gems." This month, I’m spotlighting Foresters Financial because they offer some of the most unique advantages in the industry for 2026.

Here is why Foresters stands out from the crowd:

🚭 The "S***f & Chew" Advantage
Did you know most insurance companies charge you "Smoker Rates" if you use smokeless to***co? Foresters is different! If you use s***f, chew, or pipes but don't smoke ci******es, you may qualify for Non-To***co rates. This can save you up to 50% on your premiums!

🏥 Living Benefits (Life insurance you don't have to die to use)
Many Foresters plans include Living Benefits at no extra cost. If you are diagnosed with a critical, chronic, or terminal illness, you can access a portion of your death benefit while you are still living to help pay for care or household bills.

🧒 The "BrightFuture" Children’s Plan
Looking to start a foundation for your kids or grandkids? Their children’s whole life plans are affordable, build cash value, and guarantee that your child will have coverage for life, regardless of any health issues they may develop down the road.

🎁 The "Member" Perks (My Favorite Part!)
When you have a Foresters policy, you become a member. This gives you access to:

Competitive Scholarships for your children/grandchildren.

Community Grants to fund local volunteer projects.

Legal Link: Access to discounted legal services for wills and estate planning.

Is Foresters the right fit for your family? Whether you’re a "non-to***co" to***co user or looking to protect your kids, let's see if we can find a plan that fits your budget!

Disclaimer: Foresters Financial and Foresters are trade names and trademarks of The Independent Order of Foresters. Benefits vary by state and policy type. This is a solicitation for insurance.

🏥 Understanding Medicare Part A: Your Hospital Insurance Guide for 2026

If you’re approaching 65 or already on Medicare, Part A is a cornerstone of your coverage. But "Hospital Insurance" doesn't mean everything is free. Here is a breakdown of what you need to know for 2026.

💰 What Does It Cost You?
Monthly Premium: Most people pay $0 (if you or a spouse worked 10+ years). If you don't qualify for premium-free, the cost can be up to $565/month.

The Deductible: In 2026, you pay a $1,736 deductible for each benefit period before Medicare starts to pay.

Hospital Coinsurance: * Days 1–60: $0 (after deductible).

Days 61–90: $434 per day.

Days 91+: $868 per "lifetime reserve day."

Skilled Nursing Coinsurance: Days 21–100 cost $217 per day.

✅ What Part A Helps Cover:
Inpatient Hospital Care: Semi-private rooms, meals, general nursing, and drugs as part of your inpatient treatment.

Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) Care: Medically necessary care following a qualifying 3-day inpatient hospital stay.

Hospice Care: For terminal illness support, including pain management and counseling.

Home Health Care: Limited part-time skilled care if you are homebound.

❌ What Is NOT Covered:
Most doctor visits (that’s Part B!).

Long-term care (custodial care like help with bathing or dressing).

Private duty nursing or a private room (unless medically necessary).

Personal items (TV/Phone in your room).

🛡️ How to Fill the Gaps?
Because the out-of-pocket costs (like that $1,736 deductible) can add up quickly, most people choose one of two paths:

1. Medicare Supplement (Medigap): These plans work with Original Medicare. Depending on the plan (like a Plan G), it can pay 100% of your Part A deductible and those expensive daily hospital coinsurance costs. You keep your freedom to see any doctor that accepts Medicare.

2. Medicare Advantage (Part C): These plans are an alternative to Original Medicare. They must cover everything Part A covers, but they often change the "cost-sharing" structure to fixed copays (e.g., $300/day for the first 5 days) rather than a large deductible. They often include extra benefits like dental and vision.

Confused about which path is right for your budget? Medicare isn't "one size fits all." Let's look at your specific needs and find the right fit.

Every day I help clients secure Medicare Health plans that suit their immediate needs and budget. I appreciate the trust they place in me as I look at, and evaluate, their available options. However, as experienced local independent insurance agent, my commitment to my clients and their loved ones goes far beyond mere Medicare advice. That’s why I want existing and future clients to consider also having a conversation with me about their end-of-life needs. Making no decision is still a decision, and not having a plan in place to protect your loved ones can be disastrous. I can help you explore the numerous end-of-life products designed to give you peace of mind in the here and now, and protection for your loved ones after you are gone.

Being a mom has shaped who I am in more ways than I can count. I’m incredibly grateful for my children and the life we’ve built together.

Today, I also want to wish a happy Mother’s Day to all the moms, grandmas, stepmoms, bonus moms, and mother-figures who show up every day in big and small ways. Your care, strength, and steady presence matter more than you know.

Wishing everyone a meaningful Mother’s Day 🤍

🩺 More Than Just a Name: A Thank You to "Faith"

For National Nurses Day, I want to share a personal story about a hero who changed my life during one of my hardest weeks.

Back in 2021, I found myself in the hospital with COVID. If you were there, you remember the feeling—the isolation was heavy. Being separated from my family was the hardest part; I felt so alone and, honestly, a little invisible.

Then I met a nurse named Faith.

Her name couldn't have been more perfect. At a time when the world was so uncertain, Faith was a light. She was gentle, kind, and she never treated me like I was "the plague." She didn't just check my vitals; she helped me clean up when I couldn't do it myself, and most importantly, she lifted my spirits when they were at their lowest.

There are "Faiths" in every hospital across this country—nurses who show up daily to do the hard, invisible, and beautiful work of healing. At some point in our lives, we will all encounter a nurse who makes a difference.

To Faith, and to all the nurses out there: Thank you for your heart, your hands, and your unwavering care. Happy National Nurses Day! ❤️🩺

📢 Attention Self-Employed & 1099 Professionals!

If you’re self-employed, you know the drill: your income is high enough that you don't qualify for government subsidies, but you’re stuck paying "full price" for individual health insurance. It’s expensive, the networks can be narrow, and the options often feel limited.

But did you know if you have at least two W-2 employees (including yourself!), you might qualify for a Small Group Health Plan.

Why a Group Plan is a Game Changer:
💰 Lower Premiums: By pooling risk, group rates are often more competitive than individual plans for the same level of coverage.

🏥 Better Networks (PPOs!): Many individual plans limit you to HMOs. Group plans frequently offer robust EPO or PPO options, giving you access to a much wider range of doctors and specialists.

📊 Tax Advantages: Premiums paid by the business are generally 100% tax-deductible, and employee contributions can be made with pre-tax dollars.

🦷 All-in-One Savings: You can easily add group-rate Dental, Vision, and Life insurance. These "ancillary" benefits are significantly cheaper when bought as a group.

🗓 No "Open Enrollment" Stress: Unlike individual plans, you can start a new group plan any time of year. You aren't locked into the November–January window!

The "Power of Two"
In many states, as long as you have one W-2 employee who isn't a spouse or a business owner, you can unlock these corporate-level benefits for your small business.

Client Snapshot - Life Insurance For Ni****ne Pouch User

The Case: A 41-year-old male.
The Lifestyle: He uses ni****ne pouches (like Zyn, Zone, or On!). No other to***co product used.
The Problem. Ni****ne use is still rated the same as to***co use for many carriers and a To***co Rating for this client would have cost him 2x to 3x more than standard rates!

THE WIN: Because I specialize in these niches, I utilized a specific carrier that views pouch users as Non-To***co. The Impact:

✅ $140/month for a 30-year term policy.
✅ Hundreds of dollars in monthly savings.
✅ Security for his family without sacrificing his budget.

The Key Takeaway: Underwriting isn't a "one-size-fits-all" equation. Every carrier interprets "ni****ne use" differently. It pays (literally) to work with someone who can navigate those rules for you.

Curious about your own potential for savings?
If you or your partner have been unfairly rated as a smoker, let's explore if we can pivot your rating. Direct message me, and we can look at your specific situation to find the carrier that is right for you. If you are a s***f user vs a pouch user there are carriers that rate non-to***co for this as well. 📈

[Mandatory Disclosure: Individual rates vary based on personal health, age, and underwriting approval. This is an example of a specific case and not a guaranteed offer of insurance.]
