Something we thought was worth sharing ❤️
Working in insurance, we get to know people in all different stages of life. One conversation that comes up more often than you might think is, “How can we keep Mom or Dad safely at home longer?”
We also get a lot of questions about nursing homes, assisted living, long-term care, and what insurance will actually help pay for. And the reality is, there can be some pretty significant gaps when it comes to long-term care. That’s why I thought Nomo Smart Care was such an interesting concept when we learned about last year. We actually have it displayed in our office too. It’s designed to help families keep an eye on an aging loved one’s normal routines at home without using cameras. Things like whether they’ve gotten out of bed, opened the refrigerator, taken medication, or if something seems different from their normal routine can help family members know when they may need to check in.
I just love the idea of technology giving someone a little more independence while also giving their family some peace of mind. This isn’t insurance, and it certainly doesn't replace hands-on care when someone needs it. I just thought it was a really neat resource worth sharing, especially for families trying to help someone they love remain safely and independently at home for as long as possible.
