For those of you who are planning to expand your family, what does your maternity leave policy entail? Do you receive any form of compensation during your hospital stay? This is where I strongly advise considering short-term disability and hospital plans if you are planning to start a family.

Already expecting. We have a carrier that in some instances as long as through a payroll deduction account you can typically get guaranteed issue with the preexisting condition. Yes that is correct. I said what I said. Not every carrier will do this but we have one that we can usually get these conditions.

Just had a claim process through where an employees coverage went effective 02/01/26 and baby delivered 02/24/26. Policyholder received short term disability and hospital policy payout. She can focus on her infant with some money in her pocket.
