Is there someone you admire so much that if you met them in person, you’d cry?

I didn’t think I felt that way about anyone…

And then I had ten minutes one on one with Jessie Diggins, four time Olympic medalist. And while I managed to talk to her, my eyes just would not stop leaking.

Not only is she an icon of the international nordic ski world, she is a brave and sincere advocate for mental health, eating disorders, and climate change. Check out her book Brave Enough, or her new documentary Threshold.

She’s a role model for me, my kids, and I whole lot of other people I really admire not just because of her dedication and discipline but because of her humanity and humility.

In those ten leaky minutes I tried to explain how meaningful her impact has been to me and my kids personally, and I saw a couple twinkles in her eyes too. She’s the real deal. And just being in her presence and hearing her speech forced a couple questions I’ll be ruminating on:

Am I attending to my health in a way that allows me to perform at my best? What can I do to share more of the lessons I’ve been so fortunate to learn?

Thanks so much for the 2026 National Women’s Conference…. I never thought I’d hold Olympic Medals of one of my greatest inspirations.

Our office has been buzzing this summer!

Mallory Ninabuck is our summer intern, learning about being an advisor while studying for the SIE and majoring in Finance and Accounting and minoring in Math at UW Eau Claire. She has a very bright future.

Krista Karow has joined our office, returning to Thrivent with 20 years experience as an advisor. She brings a wealth of experience and fun. We’ll be hosting events in the near future to welcome her, we look forward to having you join us.
