Mother’s Day weekend is a reminder of just how incredibly special moms are. Their love, sacrifices, patience, strength, and endless support shape the lives of their children in ways words can hardly describe. From the little things nobody sees to the big moments we never forget, moms give so much of themselves every single day.

For those fortunate enough to still have their mom here, cherish the time, the conversations, the hugs, and the memories. And for those whose moms have passed, we think about them often, miss them deeply, and carry their love with us forever.

To all the amazing moms, grandmas, stepmoms, and mother figures — thank you for everything you do and everything you are. Happy Mother’s Day weekend. ❤️

Insurance Tip of the week:

Not all insurance rates are created equal—especially in times of market uncertainty.

We’re seeing some companies come in with very low rates to win business quickly. We know because we represent some. Sounds great upfront… but too often, it’s a short-term play. Within a year or two, those same policies can see significant increases at renewal. That “great deal” can turn into a frustrating surprise.

Even more important than price? What’s actually covered.

There are major differences from one company to the next—especially with homeowners insurance. Things like replacement cost, water damage coverage, roof settlements, and endorsements can vary more than most people realize.

The cheapest policy today isn’t always the best decision long-term.

At GIT Insurance, we focus on stability, transparency, and making sure you understand exactly what you have—before you need to use it.

If you’ve had a recent rate change or just want a second look, let’s review it together.

Long-term care is one of the biggest risks to your retirement—and one of the most overlooked.

What if you could protect your assets without the “use it or lose it” concern?

A hybrid long-term care policy combines permanent life insurance with long-term care benefits. That means:
✔️ If you need care, you have coverage to help protect your savings
✔️ If you don’t, your family still receives a tax-free death benefit
✔️ Built-in flexibility as part of your overall estate plan

It’s about making sure the money you’ve worked hard for stays where you want it—supporting you, your spouse, or the next generation.

Smart planning isn’t just about growing wealth… it’s about protecting it.

If you’ve ever wondered how long-term care fits into your financial plan, let’s talk.

Health insurance can feel confusing, but it really comes down to a few key moments when you can make changes 👇

1. Annual Enrollment (Open Enrollment)
This is the main window each year when anyone can enroll in or change their health insurance plan. If you miss it, you typically have to wait until the next year… unless you qualify for a life event.

2. Life Events (Special Enrollment)
Certain changes in your life allow you to update your coverage outside of the normal enrollment period, such as:
• Getting married or divorced
• Having a baby or adopting a child
• Losing other coverage
• Moving to a new state
These events open a limited window to make changes, so timing matters.

3. Group vs. Individual Plans
• Group Insurance (Employer-Based): Coverage offered through your employer, often with a portion of the premium paid by the company.
• Individual/Family Plans: Coverage you purchase on your own, tailored to your needs if you’re self-employed, between jobs, or not offered benefits.

No matter which route you take, your family can be included on either type of plan depending on eligibility.

Choosing the right coverage isn’t just about price, it’s about protecting your health, your finances, and your peace of mind.

If you have questions or want help reviewing your options, we’re here to help.

Have you thought about getting a Whole Life insurance policy for your child or grandchild???

Most people don’t think about life insurance for kids—but it can be one of the smartest long-term financial decisions you make as a parent.

A whole life policy for a child is designed to last their entire lifetime. It locks in their insurability early, regardless of what the future may bring.

For example: You can start a policy at birth with $25,000 of coverage for just a few hundred dollars per year.

But here’s where it really becomes powerful: With a guaranteed insurability rider, your child has the option to purchase additional coverage later in life—typically in their 20s and 30s—without any medical exams or underwriting. Just their age at the time.

That means no worrying about future health changes impacting their ability to get coverage.
Over time, this policy can grow with them—and eventually, ownership can be transferred directly to your child or grandchild when they become an adult.

It’s not just life insurance.
It’s a head start.

If you’ve ever thought about setting something up for your kids or grandkids, We’d be happy to walk you through how it works.

As we get some much-needed rain 🌧️, it’s a good time to talk about something most homeowners don’t think about until it’s too late…
Sump pump failure.

When a sump pump fails, water can back up or overflow into your basement—causing thousands in damage, especially if it’s finished.

Here’s the part many people don’t realize: 👉 This is NOT automatically covered on most homeowners policies.

Coverage for sump pump backup or overflow typically:
✔ Must be added as an endorsement
✔ Often comes with limits like $5,000 or $10,000
✔ Can usually be increased (which is highly recommended for finished basements)
With storms and heavy rain, this is one of the most common (and costly) claims we see.

💡 Take a few minutes to review your policy before the water starts rising—not after.

If you’re not sure what you have for coverage, we’re happy to take a look and help you understand your options.
