Aas part of our continued support of the Jefferson County SPCA we are pleased to spotlight Catan, a 5 year old male hound looking for his forever home through the Jefferson County SPCA!

Catan has had quite the journey. He originally came to the shelter as a stray in March and during some time in foster care he found himself on an unexpected adventure from April 22nd until June 21st. He’s now ready for the next chapter of his story.

Catan may be a bit of a wanderer, so his future family will need to supervise him carefully when he’s outdoors. But once this sweet boy bonds with someone he loves them deeply! He’s looking for a family who will give him the love, patience and security he deserves.

We’re excited to spotlight Austin, a 2 month old male kitten available for adoption through the Jefferson County SPCA.

Austin was born to a stray mom and spent the first part of his life outdoors, but he has adjusted to indoor comfort quickly. He and his siblings are currently living in the JCSPCA’s colony room, where he has become known for his sweet personality and his love of curling up with other cats.

Austin is ready for a home that can give him love, consistency and the chance to grow into the affectionate companion he is already becoming. He enjoys attention, seeks out cozy boxes for naps and stays close to the cats he bonds with.

He is fully vetted, neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, flea treated, and dewormed, all set for a fresh start.

As part of our support of the Jefferson County SPCA we’re pleased to spotlight Akira.

Akira is a 1-year-old Chihuahua/Shih Tzu mix who came to the shelter with two other dogs. Since then, both of his companions have found loving homes, leaving Akira as the last one still waiting for his happily ever after.

Sweet, silly and full of personality, Akira is sure to steal your heart! He gets adorable little spurts of energy where he’ll happily bounce around and show off his playful side before settling in for affection. He loves spending time with people and has a way of making everyone around him smile.

Akira is fully vetted, neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, flea-treated, and de-wormed, and he’s ready to find the family he’s been waiting so patiently for.

As part of our continued effort to support the Jefferson County SPCA we're pleased to spotlight, and sponsor the adoption fee for, Bubz.

Bubz is a 7-year-old female who came to the shelter as an abandoned stray. She was underweight, sick and clearly had a difficult past. Thanks to the recent care she has received, she’s come a long way and has improved enough to begin searching for the loving home she deserves.

Don’t let her grumpy expression fool you. Bubz is one of the sweetest cats you’ll ever meet. She absolutely loves attention and believes there should always be a hand petting her. If you’re nearby, she’ll happily remind you that cuddles are expected, not optional.

As part of our continued support for the Jefferson County SPCA we’re excited to spotlight Free W***y, a 4 month old male Domestic Mediumhair available for adoption through the Jefferson County SPCA.

Free W***y came to the shelter after being found abandoned, but he’s handled everything with the easygoing nature you’d expect from a tuxedo! He’s simple, sweet, and exactly what people mean when they say “a good little cat.”
W***y is ready for a home that can give him love, consistent care and the chance to grow into the lap cat he’s already shaping up to be. He enjoys attention and will stay close to those who he loves.

A big shout out to the Thousand Islands Divers Alliance. Despite poor weather they held a fantastic event cleaning up the Islander Wreck dive site in Alexander Bay. I am glad we were able to support them for this event.

Also a big shout out to their VP (AKA “Gunners Hero”) who jumped into action when our AVP Gunner fell off the dock and had to be saved!

As part of our support for the Jefferson County SPCA We’re excited to spotlight Kokomo, a 6 year old female Pitbull available for adoption through the Jefferson County SPCA.
Kokomo came to the shelter as a stray and she has quickly shown everyone just how gentle and easygoing she is. She’s a calm, affectionate dog who loves being close to people which makes her a wonderful companion.
One of Kokomo’s favorite things is rolling in the grass and stretching out for a good belly rub. She’s kid safe, loving and ready to bring warmth and comfort into a home of her own!
