I wanted to take a moment to share something personal with you and ask for your support in something that means a great deal to me. Over the past year, I went through something I never expected. I was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of leukemia. After 30 days in the hospital and 108 chemo infusions, I’m incredibly grateful to share that I’m now in remission, with no signs of cancer and no more treatment planned.

This experience changed me. It reinforced how important family, faith, and community are, and how much the support of others truly matters. I’m especially thankful for the patience and understanding so many of you showed during that time. One thing became very clear throughout this journey: blood donations save lives. It’s that simple. From someone who wasn’t sure I’d get a second chance; I can’t stress enough how important it is to give if you’re able.

We’re supporting two upcoming blood drives, and I’d love for you to consider participating. It’s a small act that can have an incredible impact on someone else’s life. As a thank you, Red Cross is offering a free tee shirt (Watertown) or $15 Fandango gift card (Syracuse) to all who donate blood. Plus, I will be handing out Equitable cozies to every donor as a small token of appreciation for making such a big impact.
