It's that time of the year again -corn is at $5.84 and beans $14.19 - 5 more days left to lock In the Spring Price.
What do we know this year? We are protecting more, volatility Is up so we know crop Insurance prices are up some too but we are protecting more!
Some new and old products out there - PACE, Marketing Tools like RevBoost, BAND, RPowerD.
We can review It all - our experience In DeKalb and the surrounding counties Is - spend some money on Wind/Hail - don't take Hail unless you take Wind - historical data Is showing us that Derechos, tornados and straight winds are impacting us more and more. This private product gets you the option to plant crops early, replant coverage, extra harvest coverage and disappearing deductibles.

Just a note about replant claims, you are only able to receive replant compensation once per acre. If additional acres are affected, report right away.

Replant season is under way. If you have any doubt, call your agent - early reporting will get you back in replanting as soon as the water subsides. Great to see tractors and planters rolling again!

Well, Secretary of Ag has been appointed, we will see what our future holds, hoping for good things for agriculture! Off to Top Producer in Chicago next week. Look forward to learning what is up and coming in our industry for 2017 and beyond. Always a great conference!

Crop Insurance season has begun. Spring base prices are being set this month - average is at $4.15 for corn and $9.63 for soybeans as of today. 8 trading days left in the month - those numbers won't move a great deal. Watch for NASS Yields to come out this Thursday. I will post an update. Call us or stop in if you have an questions or just wanna chat about your Crop Insurance options for 2015. John Deere sells Crop Insurance unit.

Deere & Co., the world’s largest manufacturer of agricultural machinery, agreed to sell its crop insurance segment to Farmers Mutual Hail Insurance Co. of Iowa, retreating from a business that suffered years of losses.
