At our recent All Staff event, we had the joy of recognizing the team member who was mentioned most often in our Google reviews over the past year.

This award is a reflection of the care, consistency, and personal attention our team works hard to provide every day. When customers take the time to name someone in a review, it means that person made an impact worth remembering.

Congratulations to Kirscher Harkless on this well-deserved recognition. Thank you for representing Michigan Planners with the kind of service that makes people feel supported, heard, and taken care of.

And not to shamelessly turn this into a Google review plug… but if you have had a great experience with our team, we would love to hear about it! They may just be in the running for next year’s award. Leave a review here: https://g.page/r/CX-6ZHxPvJUJEAE/review

Our team kicked off the week by getting outside and giving back!

Both our Traverse City and Washington Township teams spent time cleaning up through Adopt-A-Road, and we are proud to do our small part in helping keep these communities clean and beautiful.

A big shoutout to our team members who worked through the heat and still found a way to make it fun, including a friendly contest for who could find the weirdest item during cleanup.

After moving into our Traverse City office in September, we were so excited to finally host our open house and celebrate this space with our team, clients, vendors, and partners.

It has been wonderful to see our Traverse City team settled in under one roof, and even more special to welcome so many familiar faces into the office.

This location represents more than just a new space. It gives our team a place to collaborate, connect, and continue serving Northern Michigan with the personal support and care our clients know and expect from Michigan Planners.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, celebrated with us, and helped make the day so special. We are so grateful for the relationships we have built in this community and excited for what is ahead!

Rising benefit costs may not be the most exciting topic, but they are one of the most important conversations employers can be having right now.

At the Michigan Bankers Association BEST Conference, Amanda Bobrovetski and Kurt Swartz shared cost containment strategies to help banking HR teams better understand their options and plan ahead with more confidence.

From earlier renewal conversations to funding strategies, plan design, and employee education, their session focused on practical steps banks can take to better manage benefit costs.

We are proud to be an endorsed partner of the Michigan Bankers Association and grateful for the opportunity to support such a valuable event!

Last week, we had the joy of hosting our third annual Michigan Planners All Staff Event, and it was truly one of our favorite days of the year.

Each year, we set aside one day with no company updates, no business talk, and no formal agenda. Just time to pause, be together, and celebrate the incredible people who make Michigan Planners what it is.

With team members in our Washington office, Traverse City office, and working remotely, we know how important it is to create moments that bring everyone together. There is something really special about having the whole team in one place, sharing laughs, catching up, and building connections beyond the day-to-day work.

We spent the day playing games, reading a few of our favorite customer reviews, and taking a moment to recognize the care our team pours into their work every day. Hearing those kind words from our customers was such a meaningful reminder that what we do matters, and that it is the people behind the work who make the difference.

To our team, thank you for the heart, dedication, kindness, humor, and compassion you bring to Michigan Planners. We are so lucky to be supported by such phenomenal people, and we never want to take that for granted.

A special thank you to in Grand Rapids for being such a wonderful host and venue, as always.

Already looking forward to next year!

Kurt Swartz recently had the pleasure of speaking on the Benefits Broker Panel at the TAHRA Monthly Meeting in Traverse City!

The panel covered industry trends, employer challenges, open enrollment planning, and what HR teams should be thinking about for 2026 and beyond.

This is a topic Kurt and our team are passionate about, and we encourage employers to start renewal conversations now. The earlier you plan, the more time you have to explore options and improve your chances of a stronger renewal season.

Thank you to TAHRA for hosting such a valuable conversation. We were proud to be part of it!

Day two of the MBA BEST Conference was a great one!

The HR Track room was full of timely topics, strong presenters, and meaningful conversations. John Gardiner with Bodman PLC shared practical insight on social media policies, AI, DEI, ESTA, and risk avoidance with real-world examples that brought the topics to life.

Leanna Dillon did a phenomenal job facilitating the room, especially during the round table discussion on current HR challenges, generational differences, AI policies, handbook conduct, and talent recruiting.

We also heard from Matt Brei with Blanchard, who did a great job breaking down how to create incentive programs that are impactful, practical, and easy to understand.

Thank you to the Michigan Bankers Association for another great day at BEST!

Amanda Bobrovetski had the opportunity to speak at the Women in Banking event on “Leading with Resilience: The Intersection of Strategy, Culture, and Human Connection.”

Her message was a powerful reminder that strong leadership is not built on strategy alone. It is built through the way we show up for people, navigate change, create trust, and stay connected to the human side of business.

In an industry that continues to evolve, conversations like this matter. Thank you to the Michigan Bankers Association for creating space for meaningful leadership discussions, and congratulations to Amanda for representing Michigan Planners with such thoughtfulness, experience, and heart.

Proud to have leaders like Amanda on Team MPI.

We had our Town Hall last week, and it felt worth sharing.

One slide summed it up well: “The only constant in life is change.”

As a privately held, family-run Michigan business, we take that to heart. Every new idea, improvement, and piece of feedback helps shape how we show up for the people we serve.

These meetings give our team time to pause, connect, and talk openly about how we can keep getting better for our clients, their employees, and the families who count on their benefits every day.

Growth is not just about doing more. It is about doing better.

And we are so grateful to have a team that truly cares about doing the right thing.
