The recent earthquake activity in Venezuela and Northern California is a reminder that earthquakes can happen with little to no warning.
In Venezuela, a powerful 7.2 magnitude earthquake was followed moments later by an even stronger 7.5 magnitude event, causing widespread devastation. In Northern California, a 5.6 magnitude earthquake struck Mendocino County, the largest the area has experienced in decades.
