Five Endorsements Most Pennsylvania Homeowners Don’t Have (But Should)

Your base homeowner’s policy covers a lot—but it doesn’t cover everything, and in Pennsylvania, the gaps tend to line up with the risks you’re most likely to face. That’s where endorsements come in. Think of them as targeted upgrades that close specific holes in your coverage.

Here are the ones we add most often for our clients after going through our Due Diligence Process: Water and sewer backup coverage, because Pennsylvania’s aging infrastructure and heavy seasonal rain make this one of the most common claims we see—and it’s almost never included in a standard policy. Extended replacement cost, which pays to rebuild your home even if construction costs exceed your policy limit. With lumber and labor prices still unpredictable, this one matters more than ever. Personal property replacement cost, so your belongings are covered at today’s value instead of a depreciated amount.
