FlatIron Battery Storage Facility Proposal Update - When the Zoning Commission held its informational meeting, Flatiron was asked many questions by the Zoning Commission and the public at large. Flatiron stated that they would be providing the answers to the questions and continuing their engagement with the public by coming to a Town Council meeting ( proposed for 1/12/26) and having additional Open House meetings to engage the public directly, as they have not formally applied to the siting council.
I have followed up to confirm that they would be holding a public forum and coming to a Town Council Meeting, as they stated at the Zoning meeting.
They will be having two Open House meetings- Jan 8th and Jan 21st at Sarah Noble School, starting at 7pm. ( see the attached flyer)
I had confirmed with Dr Parlato, our Superintendent of Schools;
to use the NMHS Auditorium for the Jan 12th meeting. ( thank you to Dr Parlato and NMHS Facilities) Flatiron has asked to present to the Town Council at its second Jan meeting, which is Jan 26th - to provide information to the Council and public from the Open House discussions. I have asked Superintendent Parlato if either the NMHS Auditorium or the SNIS Cafeteria is available. Once I hear back, I will update you once the location has been confirmed.

We are also asking the public if you have a question or concern, and would like for Flatiron to provide an answer, please email your question or comment to: [email protected]. As we receive them, we will send the questions and concerns to Flatiron on Friday afternoon for the questions submitted that week, for their responses.
