If you are starting a business association or seeking to grow one, learn in which phase you are and manage the process accordingly. I have been collaborating for many years with the Confederation of Danish Industries (DI), an amazing organization representing 18,000 companies across sectors with more than 500 employees. DI also strengthens BAs and Chamber of Commerce (collectively referred as Business Membership Organizations / BMOs) all around the world and it has identified 4 phases of development of an association. You really want to be in 4th phase. Watch the video to know these !!

Dialogue from everywhere means to be better at virtual meetings and showing our counterparts we are prepared and ready to engage. I made this 15-min video to help my colleagues look better on Zoom, WebEx or other video conference platforms. As we are not YouTube influencers, this is a low tech how-to-look-good tips where I share what I have done in my basement in terms of lights, camera, seating, framing. I hope this helps ! I have been recently asked to support several Public Private Dialogues. The first question I ask is "why" do you want to set up a PPD? the first question they have for me is "how do we do that"? As you might be a few asking the same question, I did a quick video from my home office. Quality is certainly to improve but we are in the Zoom era so everything is possible ! Please comment and ask more questions that I can address in the next video.

Check here how public private dialogue is critical in developing joint solutions to tackle COVID19 situation. A guide has just been published to assist governments, the private health sector, and
civil society partners to align different stakeholder groups to undertake collective action to achieve an impact in health and understand the conditions under which a PPD can succeed.

The COVID-19 pandemic has exposed the fissure in health systems including many of the long-standing governance challenges between the private and public health sectors. Yet the pandemic has also created an opportunity for public-private engagement.

Dear PPD friends and community of practice, many of you have asked "when will the 10th PPD Workshop take place?". It took time and resources, but instead of a “classic” PPD Global Workshop as we have done 9 times already since 2006, the team decided, as an interlude, to focus the energy on how the private sector can contribute and react to a very important global issue, which is the refugee crisis. Today, more than 68 million people have been forced from their homes worldwide, including 25 million refugees. Which is why we are announcing a new stream of work on a public-private dialogue approach to the refugee issue.

A major public-private event will thus take place on June 11-12, 2019, in Paris, called “𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗼𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝗘𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗥𝗲𝗳𝘂𝗴𝗲𝗲”. The event is organized by the World Bank Group, the European Investment Bank and the Confederation of Danish Industry. The program can be downloaded from here:https://www.danskindustri.dk/siteassets/dibd/resten-af-verden---cases/program---paris-june-11-12---private-sector-role-in-economic-integration-of-refugees.pdf

The conference will bring together field practitioners, investment companies and private sector firms, refugee entrepreneurs, labor market representatives, donors and development partners, chambers of commerce, and public sector actors; 15 countries are expected to be represented through 200 participants. If your PPD is wondering how to integrate a refugee dimension to its work, then this event is for you.
