I’m stay at home full time with my toddlers and our closest family is 2,000 miles away, so I love side hustles that I can do either during naptime or with my kids! These are some things I did today to bring in an extra $246!!

If you’re a mom trying to earn some extra money for your family, I hope you stick around! I’m sharing our journey paying off $71K in debt with easy side hustles and smart budgeting! It’s obviously a work in progress but slowly moving the needle forward!

Debt payoff, mom side hustles, side gigs, mystery shopping, focus groups, tutoring, saving money

I’m trying to build my “abundant life”. Obviously a work in progress but here are 4 ways I’m building an abundant/rich life:

1. More time outside☀️: I’ve been trying to start our day outside and it’s been so nice. As soon as my kids wake up, we grab a “breakfast snack”, get straight in the stroller (even in their pjs) and walk for 20 minutes! We’ve also been prioritizing lunch/dinner outside too!! Kind of forgot how much my soul needs the sun :)

2. More time with God ⛪️: I want to be better about this but I’m trying to spend more time with God (in the scriptures, listening to worship music…etc.)

3. More intentional time with my kids 💕: I’ve been better recently about leaving my phone in a different room and intentionally spending quality time. When we go to the park or the library, I’ll just leave my phone in the car so the distraction isn’t there!

4. Having a cleaning system/routine 🧼 I used to constantly feel like I needed to get “on top of my life”. I’m not perfect but having a routine I can stick to and habits that actually fit into my life with 2 littles has been such a game changer. My home feels so much cleaner and more peaceful and as an overstimulated mom, this is big for me!

Would love to know what your “rich life” looks like?! Or what you want it to look like?

I was denied 3 times for the Amazon Influencer Program (AIP). 🤣 Reallllyyy want it to work though so I might try to start over - create a new Amazon account & new social media account?? Or should I just abort mission and put energy into a different side hustle?

If you are also trying to get in, hopefully you have better luck than I do. ☺️

If you’ve had good (or bad) experience with the Amazon Influencer Program or UGC, I’d love to hear your feedback!

I’ll share in a video tomorrow my experience trying to get in to AIP so far. (It hasn’t gone well lol.)

Also I keep hearing that AIP recently changed some things and you don’t earn as high in commissions? Is it still worth it?

These are 3 side hustles I’ve loved since starting my debt payoff journey.

I shared my favorite site for both mystery shopping and focus groups in the video. You can probably learn a lot about both side hustles on Google/youtube!

I chose to buy a course about each of them so I could dive all in. They both were really helpful & worth the $$ in my opinion! I know not everyone would be interested in that, but if you are:
comment MYSTERY or
comment FOCUS and I’ll send you the class I took! Both courses have a ton of helpful info including a master list of reputable sites to use, which is how I look for shops/studies every week.

I’ll share 2 side hustles that I want to try tomorrow!

Celebrating the tiny wins to help me get through my “debt slump”. I’d love to hear your money wins from this week!! Let me celebrate you too!! 💕

And if you’re a mom trying to manage your home AND your money, you’re in the right place.

I share the side hustles I’m using to pay off debt, ways I’m learning to enjoy life while sticking to a budget, and the simple systems I’m building so our home (and life) feel a little less chaotic.

Just keeping it real over here. Apparently it’s not all sunshine and rainbows 😂.

It’s been exactly 9 months since I started this account to document our debt journey! I shared how much I’ve made in side hustles since starting on September 1.

By the way, the side hustle income I shared included money I’ve made from mystery shopping, focus groups, other side gig apps, sharing affiliate links, and selling my “Abundant Life Cleaning System”.

I didn’t include the $2820 I’ve made teaching at-home preschool (started September 4) bc I would have started teaching preschool whether I started social media or not! But maybe I should have included that number to make myself feel better lol. 😂

Anyway, if you’re an overwhelmed mama wanting to make some extra money & enjoy your life more, I hope you follow along on my “abundant life” journey. ❤️

We’re a family paying off $71K in debt right now, but birthdays are also really important to me! I wanted to make my daughter’s party fun without spending a ton of money.

Here are ways we cut costs: (we only spent $55)
- Made our own cake (I have 3 6-inch cake pans I bought 2 years ago and I use them for every birthday now. Cutest size!)
- We hosted the party at home.
- Instead of themed Moana plates/tablecloth/napkins, we used the $1 plates from Walmart.
- I made my own cupcake toppers using Canva (and found a free printable for the sandwich toppers)
- I spent $10 on a box of 25 leis - enough to decorate the table and to give to each child as a “party favor”
- we kept things super simple. Just played, did freeze dance, made Moana boat crafts, ate food/cake, opened gifts…
- I also used a $20 gift card from a focus group study to cut costs!
(I have the exact cost break down of how we spent $55 in my “Birthdays on a Budget Part 2” post earlier this week!”

Hope this helps anyone wanting a simple & budget friendly birthday for their little one!

This is how we planned a Moana party for my 4 year old as a family paying off debt.

Already had:
- Balloon arch ($2.50 from Target’s clearance section & included this price in Part 1)
- Brown Paper

Homemade:
- Cupcake Toppers ( makes it easy breezy!)
- Moana Boat cupcake toppers (found a sail printout for free online)
- Birthday Poster
- Cake

Bought: (spent $55 total)
- paint for poster $1
- rainbow craft sticks (for boats): $4
- Moana boats to decorate table $6
- leis for the kids: $10
- food: $31 (pigs in blanket, grapes, pineapple, Hawaiian ham sandwiches, popcorn cups with gummy sharks & “coconuts” (whoppers), applesauce pouches, waters…..I used a $10 side hustle gift card to keep costs down)
- paper plates/napkins/party hats: $3 (Used another $10 gift card from a side hustle - see my part 1 post!)

We don’t do parties every year. I think I’ll probably do them every other year? It was such a fun day and the girls had the BEST time. We did some fun island freeze dancing, made a moana boat craft, ate food/cake, opened presents - all simple and she loved it!
