We need to face a hard truth about climate capital earmarked for nature-based solutions: it's simply not moving like it should. The investor interest is there, the ideas are there - so why aren't dollars reaching many projects on the ground?

Quantified Ventures’ national RFI revealed what’s holding the market back: a missing middle of project developers who can translate promising concepts into investable deals. Absent that, we'll continue to celebrate paper timelines while forests burn.

Our Mike Crowley and Chloe Wingerter traveled to Missoula, MT, last week to co-facilitate a stakeholder workshop to help identify clean energy projects and opportunities for related public-private partnerships in Missoula.

The pipeline of opportunities and ideas was robust, from local clean energy generation and storage to zero emissions transportation, from net zero buildings to resilience hubs.

QV thanks to our great partners in this work City of Missoula, Clearwater Credit Union, Missoula County, Climate Smart Missoula, and Missoula Economic Partnership for leading breakout sessions and ensuring we had an engaged group of participants. More than 50% of American children under the age of 6 have lead present in their blood. There is no such thing as a safe blood lead level, and the long term impacts of exposure can be detrimental and lifelong.

We worked with the Michigan Municipal League Foundation to develop and test strategies for replacing lead-tainted lines in 2 Michigan cities.

The Western U.S. is facing a monumental water crisis and pressure is mounting on holders of water rights (and land rights) throughout the Colorado River Basin. Land trusts are a crucial tool in protecting both agricultural lands and the water rights associated with those properties.

QV is proud to work with the Colorado West Land Trust to construct a model that enables land trusts to secure and protect land more quickly and efficiently. Mount St. Helens Institute (MSHI) has reached their capacity for day-only programs, and their facilities do not currently support any overnight accommodations. In partnership with the U.S. Forest Service, they are pursuing turning an underutilized visitor center into a thriving hub for overnight outdoor-school programs, family camps, and recreation lodging.

QV is pleased to be support the financial structuring, which included building a cash-flow model to ensures sustainability and long-term operation. Once complete, the project is expected to generate $3M in revenue, create dozens of new jobs, and increase access to the park for young people.
