Join us in congratulating Chris Miers on passing his Property & Casualty licensing exam!🎉

Chris joined HWP Insurance this past January and has been working hard towards obtaining his P&C license. With this achievement, Chris will be working closely with our Commercial Sales Division as a Business Development Associate. In his new role, Chris will play a key part in supporting the sales team as we continue to grow and elevate our clients’ experience.

A little bit about Chris--

Mr. Miers is a graduate of York College of Pennsylvania, where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration along with a dual minor in supply chain and entrepreneurship. He also holds a Master of Arts in Strategic Leadership and Management. Outside of his studies, Chris played Division III basketball throughout his time at York College and now enjoys anything to do with fitness and good food!

It’s the end of an era.

Auto Insurance is there to protect you from unexpected damage or accidents. It does not cover normal wear & tear or routine maintenance.

If your car stops running due to age, mechanical failure, or normal wear & tear, your auto policy will not cover the cost of repairs or a replacement vehicle.

However, if your car is totaled due to an accident, your insurance company will typically reimburse you for the Actual Cash Value (ACV) of the vehicle at the time of the loss. Keep in mind that coverage terms can vary depending on the carrier and the policy you've purchased. That's why it's important to review your auto policy carefully, so you know exactly what is included to avoid any surprises.

The holiday season is in full swing, and if you plan to decorate a holiday tree, we’ve got some reminders for you. ⬇

If you’re buying an artificial tree, make sure it’s fire-resistant, but if you prefer real trees, try to make sure it’s fresh and not dry. Not only will it stay greener longer, but it will be less of a fire hazard.

When deciding where to place your tree, make sure you keep it away from any heat sources like radiators or fireplaces. You also want to be careful that it isn’t blocking any doorways or sitting somewhere that can easily be bumped or knocked over. That picturesque place in front of your bay windows might be the perfect spot. 😉

Check your stringed lights for any cracked sockets, frayed wires or loose connections. Don’t use more than three standard-sized sets of lights per single extension cord. Never use lighted candles on a tree or near other types of evergreen. And, always make sure to turn off all the lights on the tree and any other decorations before you go to bed or leave your house.
