WHUR Howard University Radio, aired a segment on DC Calls It Quits as part of its Daily Drum program. (link below) The piece features interviews with campaign partners Dr. Carla Williams, Director of the Howard University Cancer Center; Charles Debnam, Chair, DC To***co Free Coalition; and Rolando Andrewn, Founding President, Breathe DC.

It touches on the disproportionately high rates of smoking in the African-American community and in some wards in the District; why it is so difficult to quit smoking; and the resources available to help smokers quit. The host also opened the segment up to local callers. One caller inquired about a specific prescription quit-smoking treatment, and Dr. Williams noted that it was a good medication and that all approved treatments greatly help increase the chance of success when quitting.

Finally, the piece mentions the quit line number to help connect people who want to quit to the resources available to help them.
