Here are three of the best, most practical tips for returning gifts after Christmas—simple, stress-saving, and widely applicable. 🎁🎁🎁

1. Know the Store’s Holiday Return Policy (Before You Go)
• Some allow returns into late January or February
• Others require receipts, gift receipts, or original packaging
• Electronics and clearance items often have stricter limits
👉 Quick win: Check the policy online before heading out to avoid a wasted trip.

2. Use Gift Receipts—or Ask for Store Credit
If you don’t have the original receipt:
• A gift receipt usually allows returns without revealing price
• No receipt? Many stores still offer store credit (often at the lowest recent price)
👉 Pro tip: Bring a valid ID—some stores track no-receipt returns.

3. Return Early and Avoid the Rush
The week between Christmas and New Year’s is peak return chaos.
• Lines are long
• Inventory for exchanges disappears fast
• Some systems temporarily restrict returns

👉 Best timing: Early mornings, weekdays, or waiting until early January (but still within the policy window).

I realize that buying a new home for someone you care about is probably not in your budget for gifts this year. However, we all know people who rent or those unable to imagine themselves in their own home. How can you still give this gift??

❄ Encourage – Let these people know that many who don’t think they can qualify to purchase a new home… CAN!

❄ Educate – If paying rent is already a part of your monthly budget, there’s a great chance that you could afford a mortgage while reaping the many benefits of homeownership.

❄ Introduce – Give them my contact information! My job is not to SELL, it’s to educate and inform.

Even if someone is unable to qualify TODAY, I can give them the steps to qualify TOMORROW! Give the gift of hope in owning your own home this holiday season to someone who you feel deserves that dream! 🎅🎄🏡
