We have partnered with the RI Institute for Labor Studies & Research and will be offering monthly retirement planning workshops in Cranston, RI.

There will be a workshop in August, September, and October. We will cover Medicare, Social Security, retirement income planning, and much more.

We will take the stress away! Retirement decisions can be life altering and some mistakes may not be reversible. Get it right the first time and things will be much easier!

Attention UnitedHealthcare Advantage Plan Members:

We wanted to share that as of July 1, 2026, many Brown University Health physicians and affiliated medical practices will no longer be participating with UnitedHealthcare’s RI Medicare Advantage network due to an ongoing contract dispute.

This follows a similar dispute in 2025, when Brown University Health hospitals and UnitedHealthcare were unable to reach a new agreement, resulting in certain Brown-affiliated hospitals becoming out of network for many UnitedHealthcare Medicare Advantage members.

If you are currently enrolled in a UnitedHealthcare Medicare Advantage plan—or are considering one—it is important to confirm whether your doctors, specialists, and preferred healthcare facilities are in-network.

If you are concerned about how these changes may affect your healthcare coverage and you are already in contact with one of our advisors, you may want to contact them directly. If you are not already working with us and you would like assistance, don't hesitate to reach out to us.

Friends,

We recently passed the midpoint of Medicare Open Enrollment season, which began on October 15 and runs through December 7. Our team — Joe, John, and Dave — has been working tirelessly to help people navigate their options during this busy and important season.

Looking ahead, it’s important to understand that most Medicare Advantage plans will be undergoing significant changes in 2026 — and for the first time in many years, these changes are not positive ones. While each carrier’s changes will differ, they may include:

- Adjustments to premiums, co-pays, and deductibles
- Potential reductions or modifications to certain benefits
- Possible network changes that could affect access to care in the future*
- Prescription drug formulary changes which are a moving target which should be reviewed annually

These upcoming shifts make it essential for both new and existing beneficiaries to understand how future changes could impact them.

If you haven’t yet reviewed your plan, now is a great time — while there’s still a little breathing room before the December 7 deadline. A short conversation today can help ensure your plan continues to meet your needs in the upcoming year.
