Last night, we had the honor of attending the 65th Anniversary Celebration at Grandover Resort & Spa in Greensboro, NC, celebrating First Mutual Insurance Company and its incredible legacy.
Founded on March 13, 1961, by Graham Neville at just 23, First Mutual was built to create competition and better serve consumers across North Carolina. Its independence from the Rate Bureau allows for more competitive and flexible products.
North Carolina remains one of the most stable insurance markets in the country, supported by strong regulation and leadership from the Department of Insurance, making it especially meaningful to have Mike Causey in attendance.
A key to First Mutual’s success has been its strong reinsurance partnerships, providing stability through 37 catastrophic events, including Hurricanes Irene and Florence. Even its largest losses have remained well within reinsurance thresholds.
Out of all partner agencies, only a few were recognized for profit sharing, and Carlton Insurance Agency, Inc. was incredibly honored to be one of them.
