Meet Kaia Figge, one of the students selected for the UFC Foundation’s From Riverbanks to Riverboats: Empowering Youth Through Industry Education trip!
Kaia, a student at Warsaw High School, stays actively involved in agriculture through both FFA and 4-H.
Her perspective on agriculture has been shaped in a unique way through her family. With her dad working as an insurance agent who partners closely with farmers, Kaia has had the opportunity to see a different side of agriculture beyond the farm. Through years of interning with him, she has gained firsthand exposure to conversations and relationships with individuals across a wide range of ag-related careers, helping her better understand the business side of the industry.
Kaia is especially looking forward to learning how popular commodities move from local operations to global markets, while also exploring different career paths within agriculture. As she begins thinking about her future, she’s eager to experience these roles firsthand and gain insight into where her interests may lead.
Looking ahead, she hopes to build strong business connections and continue developing her leadership skills. Kaia sees this experience as an opportunity to broaden her understanding of the agriculture industry and the many moving parts that make it all come together, while gaining skills she can carry with her into both her career and everyday life.
