One of the many unspoken challenges of starting a business is the possibility of losing a team member to an accident or illness. There is no playbook for navigating such heartbreaking events.
Our team represents more than just colleagues; we become familiar with each person's life, their families, and their unique personalities. This dynamic creates a sense of family within the workplace.
Last week, we experienced the loss of one of our family members, Andrew Zonin (AJ), who served as a small business account manager at KMRD. However, he was much more than just a title.
AJ was known for his holiday spirit as the Eggnog maker during Christmas, his weekly puns, and his ability to bring lightness to our Friday morning "all hands" calls on Teams. He ensured our meetings were never too serious. AJ was a master of Teams, engaging with all of us effortlessly. He loved sharing stories about his wife Barb, his passion for guitars, his dogs, cars, and the Flyers.
AJ excelled in his role, and his clients consistently praised his dedication and service. He was coachable, humble, kind, and funny, all while being a consummate insurance professional. His commitment to serving clients at a high level will leave a lasting impact. AJ will be missed and remembered as an integral part of our team. Even as we mourn our loss and grieve with Barb and his family, we can smile at his memory.
