Spring is Almost Here!

As the season shifts, I started to think about all the stories of businessowners who have faced a loss and assumed their policy would "handle everything".

But when the claim hit, the gaps showed up faster than the flowers in April.

Moments were tough, and it didn't have to be.

Spring is all about renewal, and it’s the perfect time to take a quick, proactive look at your coverage. A small review now can prevent a long, stressful recovery later.

If you want a simple, pressure‑free checkup to make sure you’re protected the way you think you are, I’m here to help.

Let’s make this season a clean start, and for your insurance, too. 🌷

Easter was a few days ago, and I’ve been thinking about the meaning of Easter.

The idea of rising again, stepping into something new, and finding strength after a difficult season.

Naturally made me think of my personal life and work life, where I meet and talk with people that have had loss of a loved one, an unexpected claim or accident, a moment they didn’t see coming.

And just like the story of Easter, there’s always a turning point where they rise, rebuild, and regain clarity.

But here’s what I’ve learned:
The rise is always easier when the foundation was prepared ahead of time.

Whether that be in your daily habits, faith, work, etc. I am reminded that habits are what makes us and that preparation is key

Outside of work, I’m usually doing one of three things: getting a workout in, spending time with my family, or hunting down a great food spot. Those moments keep me grounded and remind me why I show up the way I do for the businesses I work with.

What I’ve learned is that the same things that matter in life (like paying attention and small improvements) matter in business too. Most companies I talk to are just one conversation away from spotting something they didn’t realize was costing them money or slowing them down.

If you’re ever open to a quick, no‑pressure conversation about what’s going on in your world, I’m always happy to connect. A short chat tends to bring more clarity than people expect.

🔧 Risk Tip for HVAC Teams

Most HVAC companies don't realize how much risk (and cost) they can reduce just by reviewing a few key patterns in their Workers Comp claims. If you haven't looked at your claims recently, this is a great moment to pause and take a quick look.

You will often spot one small adjustment that prevents bigger issues down the road. Staying open, focused and connected to your numbers builds a rhythm that pays off.

If you are curious what a quick review might reveal for your HVAC team, I am always happy to walk through it with you.

🎉 New year. New goals. Same reminder: “renewal” isn’t a plan. 🎉

2026 is a clean slate to tighten risk, update limits, and stop relying on policies written when costs looked very different.

👉What’s one goal you’re setting this year that will truly move your business forward?

Extra credit if it involves reducing risk, improving operations, or finally reviewing that long-overdue policy.

🔧 Helping Local Businesses Stay Covered 🛡️

Earlier this year Jack Mallam and I worked with a garage shop owner to tighten up their insurance with the help of MMG Insurance:

-Boosted BPP by 20x 💥

-Updated building value to match replacement costs 🏗️

-Added E&O coverage to protect their work ✅

-Reviewed everything so they know exactly what they’re paying for 💡

Coverage isn’t just paperwork — it’s peace of mind so business owners can keep moving forward 🚗💼✨Helping this garage shop strengthen their protection reminded me why I love what I do

🔨 3 Common Insurance Gaps Contractors Overlook

1️⃣ Certificates of Insurance from Subs
Many contractors forget to collect and verify certificates from subcontractors. Without them, liability can fall back on you.

2️⃣ Business Interruption Coverage
If a fire or storm halts operations, lost income may not be covered unless you have business interruption insurance.

3️⃣ Cyber Liability
Contractors increasingly use digital tools for bids, invoices, and client data. A breach could expose sensitive information — cyber liability coverage helps protect against that risk.

Protecting your business isn't just about compliance. It is about safeguarding profits and peace of mind.

Not sure if your coverage has holes? Let's review it together and make sure you are protected.

❄️ Winter weather can be tough on businesses and homeowners alike. One of the biggest risks during extreme cold? Frozen pipes — which can lead to costly damage if not handled quickly.

I came across this helpful resource from West Bend Insurance Company that outlines:

- Warning signs your pipes may be frozen (like no running water or frosty pipes)
- Steps to take immediately if a pipe bursts (shut off water, clean up quickly, call a plumber/electrician)
- Preventive measures to avoid frozen pipes altogether (insulation, keeping heat above 55°F, running a trickle of water, installing sensors)

As someone who works with small and medium‑sized businesses, I know how disruptive unexpected property damage can be. Taking a few proactive steps now can save thousands later — and keep operations running smoothly through the winter.
