It is incredibly difficult to find the right words when someone as special as Tim Kyle leaves us so suddenly. Even now, it doesn't seem real.

Tim and I met in the middle of our careers while working together at a waste management company in the Mid-Atlantic. What started as a professional relationship quickly grew into a true friendship and a business partnership that spanned more than twenty years. During that time, we shared successes, setbacks, long days, impossible challenges, and countless laughs.

Tim and I approached problems very differently. Like brothers, we didn't always agree, and we certainly weren't afraid to challenge one another. There were more spirited debates and head-butting sessions than I could ever count. But that's exactly what made us such a great team. Our different perspectives sharpened our thinking, strengthened our vision, and ultimately made us both better. No matter how passionate the discussion became, when it was over, we always walked through the door side by side.

Together, we recently built something very special in West Virginia—a waste management company born from an idea and a shared vision. We were fortunate enough to see that company grow and successfully exit, but more importantly, the principles and strategy we developed together continue to serve as the foundation for its success today especially around the acquisition growth targets.

As excited as we were about what we had accomplished, Tim was even more energized by what came next. We were working together on an innovative healthcare services company that we believed could truly change lives by delivering more complete, compassionate care. Like so many conversations Tim and I had over the years, it started with a lot of questions, and an even bigger vision.

While Tim loved building businesses, nothing mattered more to him than his family. He spoke about Trish, his wife, Mikayla and Paige, his two daughters, with a pride that simply lit up the room. Whether he was telling a funny story, celebrating an accomplishment, or talking about his dreams for retirement, his family was always at the center of it all. More than anything, Tim was looking forward to the day of retirement to spend that much more time with the family.

To Trish, Mikayla, and Paige: Please know how deeply Tim loved each of you. He carried that love with him every single day. He was so proud to be your husband and father, and he wanted nothing more than to spend his future creating memories with you.

Please also know that you are not alone. The incredible outpouring of love and support we've witnessed over these past few weeks is a testament to the lives Tim touched and to how deeply your family is loved. We will continue to stand beside you, just as Tim stood beside so many of us.

Personally, I will miss one of my favorite people to simply "talk shop" with. It didn't matter whether the conversation was about waste management, trucks, Jeeps, healthcare, martini's, orthe next crazy investment idea, or just enjoying a great drink together. Tim was endlessly curious, thoughtful, and wise. He had an incredible ability to listen, challenge your thinking, and somehow make every conversation better.

More than once since his passing, I've instinctively reached for my phone because I wanted to bounce an idea off Tim. That habit may never go away. I suppose that's what happens when someone has been such an important part of your life for so long.

One thing that always stood out about Tim was his love for this country. He was a true patriot who deeply appreciated the freedoms and opportunities America provides. He believed in this nation, celebrated it, and wanted others to do the same. That love wasn't political—it was personal. It reflected his gratitude, his optimism, and his belief that there was always something worth building and something worth preserving.

Tim leaves behind a remarkable legacy—not simply in the businesses he helped build, but in the people he inspired, mentored, and loved. He taught us that healthy disagreement can strengthen relationships, that integrity matters, that loyalty is earned through action, and that success means very little if you don't share it with the people you love.

I was blessed to call Tim my business partner, but even more blessed to call him my friend. His absence leaves an enormous void, but his example, his wisdom, his laughter, and his friendship will remain with all of us.

Tim, thank you for twenty years of friendship, partnership, laughter, and unwavering loyalty. Thank you for always walking through the door beside me.

You will be deeply missed, never forgotten, and forever cherished.
Rest easy, my friend.

Sincerely,
Jeff Shiring
