When Bent Oak Mutual was first organized in 1875, it was named The Private Benevolent Association #2 of Warren County. Since its inception, the mutual company has seen name changes and mergers; most recently known as Farmers Mutual Insurance Company of Warren County for over 50 years. W

hat started as a group of farmers who understood the importance of banding together to provide financial security and property protection for each other, has withstood the test of time and now spans the entire state of Missouri. Today, Bent Oak Mutual continues to provide property and casualty coverage through exceptional agents that can serve anyone anywhere within Missouri. Just as it was in the beginning, it is a policyholder-owned company and each is a voting member.

SUNDAY NIGHT SPOTLIGHT!!
Our bubbly go-getter, accounts receivable, and billing clerk, Ashley Ann Krueger.
Ashley is the newest addition to our Bent Oak Family who happen to land here by chance! And boy oh boy are we sure glad she did! With less than a year under her belt, Ashley comes to work ready to tackle any task you throw at her. Ashley lives in Warrenton with her husband Justin, and they share 4 children: Ashley, Konner, Jacob, and Liam. Horseback riding, camping, hunting, and fishing are just some of the hobbies she enjoys, and man is she handy and creative when it comes to crafts!
Billing, mail, accounts receivable, claim entry, payments, and of course acting as our receptionist, Ashley is such a huge asset to our office and is always ready to learn something new. We have thoroughly enjoyed watching her grow over the past few months.
When asked what her favorite thing about being involved with Bent Oak was, she replied “Working with great people & being a part of an awesome team!”
In the next 5 years, Ashley sees herself still happy and enjoying life, hoping to travel more.

Some fun facts about Ashley: she’s a great “FBI Agent”, she can’t ride a bike and she enjoys crossword books & coloring to clear her mind.

Meet the “youngster” on our Board of Directors, Mr. Alex Anthony Heldt.
Alex is a project manager from Rhineland. He lives there with his wife Megan and twin girls Emma & Ellie. Alex was asked by a few members to consider joining the board here at Bent Oak roughly 5 years ago and has been a member of our team ever since. He enjoys making memories with his girls, taking vacations to the beach, and watching his favorite sports on TV.
When asked what his favorite thing about being involved with Bent Oak was, he replied, “seeing the changes, dynamics, and evolutions of insurance.”

A fun fact about Alex is, that he has traveled to 47 states.

Our 2 in 1 Board Director-Agent Combo, Mr. John William Noltensmeyer.
John is from Hermann Missouri and has been involved with Bent Oak Mutual since 2006 as an independent agent and serving on our board of directors since 2016. Prior to a former manager asking him to become an agent he worked as a general contractor for 26 years, was the Montgomery County Commissioner for 20 years and is now the owner of Noltensmeyer Agency. He was married to the late Glenda Noltensmeyer and they share 2 kids Shad (wife Julie) and Whitney (husband Tyler) and a total of 4 grandkids (Karena, SJ, Wren, and Teagan) and is now in a new relationship with a pretty great lady, Ms. Linda. John has always enjoyed working on his farm and being a dedicated member of his community serving on 4 separate boards of directors and serving as the president on 2. In his free time, he enjoys traveling through the western United States, enjoying a good steak, jamming to some classic rock, or catching up on some good old Star Trek. In the next 5 years, John sees himself doing the exact same thing he is doing now.
When asked what his favorite thing about being involved with Bent Oak was, he replied “The personal service to insureds and agents.”
Our office staff enjoys working alongside John and his plethora of knowledge and look forward to many more years of his weekly office visits and camaraderie.

Our fun-loving Board of Director, Mr. Howard W. Lauer.
Howard is from Rhineland Missouri and is Married to his wife Donna Lauer. They have 2 kids Jessica and Nathanial and 6 grandkids. Howard is a retired farmer which he dedicated most of his life to.
Howard became a member of our board 20 years ago when Benevolent Mutual Merged with Farmers Mutual (now Bent Oak). He was a member of Benevolent Mutual for 15 years prior to the merger.
In the next 5 years, Howard sees himself still breathing, he hopes! Lol.
