Here's a quick guide to what the sounds mean:

Grinding = the drive gear is working too hard. Don't wait.
Squeaking = the rail needs lubrication. Usually a fast fix.
Clicking = debris on the track, or something loose in the carriage.
Stuttering or stopping mid-run = the sensors or drive belt need attention. Call now.

We could give you a ballpark number over the phone. Plenty of companies do.

But here's why we don't: every staircase on Long Island is different. A classic straight Cape Cod is a different job than a split-level colonial with a landing turn. And if we quote without seeing it, we're really just guessing, which isn't fair to you.

So instead, we come out. We measure. We look at the actual layout, the ceiling clearance, the landing space at the top. Then we give you a real number, a real timeline, and a real answer about whether our equipment is the right fit for your home.

That's the part Pete insists on. He's been doing this long enough to know that a rushed quote usually leads to a call back with a different number, and nobody wants that.

Here's something most people don't realize until we show up for the consultation.

If your staircase is at least 28 inches wide, a stairlift can almost certainly fit. And when it's not in use, the seat, armrests, and footrest all fold up, so everyone else in the house can still walk up and down without any problem.

We hear "our stairs are too narrow" more than almost any other hesitation. And nine times out of ten, it's not actually an issue once we measure.

Long Island homes have all kinds of stair configurations. Classic Cape Cods, split-levels, older colonials with tighter entries. We've seen it all, and we know what works.
