FSA is strengthening the farm safety net thanks to the Working Families Tax Cuts Act that adds up to 30 million new base acres nationwide. Landowners have the opportunity to review and consider base acre increases in preparation for enrollment in the Agriculture Risk Coverage (ARC) and Price Loss Coverage (PLC) programs beginning with the 2026 and future crop years.

Landowners – Visit fsa.usda.gov/arc-plc for more information on accessing your base allocation summary. Don't miss the window to apply for the Farmer Bridge Assistance (FBA) program. We are being told applications are not being sent. You must apply. There are three ways to apply:

1) Go to farmers.gov and apply.
2) Request a docusign application from FSA.
3) Apply in person at FSA.

🚨 Enrollment for the Farmer Bridge Assistance program opens Feb 23. and closes April 17, 2026, providing $11B in one-time bridge payments to row crop producers in response to temporary trade market disruptions and increased production costs.

Today, we saw some of the highest highs and the lowest lows. While the cattle market is setting records, we have friends suffering tremendous losses due to wildfires in southwest Kansas and the Oklahoma panhandle.

Even in times like this, one of the most powerful things about agriculture is how we come together to help one another. We are coordinating supplies to take southwest. If you’re able to help with fencing supplies, hay, trucking, manual labor, or any of the countless needs ranchers are facing right now, please reach out to me.

We will be using Flint Hills Stockyards, 27425 West Drew Rd., Saint Marys, KS, as a local collection point.

The full impact of these fires will become clearer tomorrow when the sun comes up. Please keep these families, their animals, and their livelihoods in your thoughts and prayers.
