The City of Wamego, Kansas Government crews and the Wamego Police Department have been hard at work since last night helping our community through the aftermath of last nights storm. Please give them a big THANK YOU and a shout out/horn honk when you see them out and about this week. We are lucky to have such an amazing group of dedicated people.

UPDATE 5-19-2026:
As of 10:30 am, Red Top Road and Dutch Mill Road are open.
There is still water over Louis Vieux Road, Airport Road, and Valley Road.

The following roads around the Wamego area are closed due to flooding:
Valley View Road, Red Top Road, Dutch Mill Road, Airport Road, and Louis Vieux Road south of Military Camp Road. Barricades have been placed and will be removed in the morning after the roads have been deemed safe for travel.

Happy Mother’s Day! Catrinas Mexican Restaurant in Newton, KS went all out today to celebrate this special day with balloons, flowers, and great service. The girls & I are so glad we got to enjoy a delicious lunch with my mom today.

After you watch the talent on stage at the Kanvas Dance Company - Wamego dance recital this weekend, head down to El corral Mexican Restaurant for an amazing late lunch/dinner and then grab a delicious ice cream from Flint Hills Pints . We can’t wait to see everyone this weekend.

Check out the Wine and Bundt Cake Pairings basket I put together for the Wamego Hospital Foundation Diamonds and Denim fundraiser tonight at The Columbian Theatre - Wamego, Kansas. Kristen at the Oz Winery put together wine pairing recommendations to go with the Nothing Bundt Cakes inside the basket. There’s also a $50 gift card so you can buy your favorite flavors from Nothing Bundt Cakes. A huge Thank You to Kelli E. for picking up our basket to get it in place for the event.
