We received notification that progressive is approved to apply 19.9% rate increases on auto policies renewing 4/12/24.
At first glance this feels shocking I’m sure, but this is actually good news. This carrier is being realistic about our current environment and we’re reducing new policies written and are planning to continue their offering in California rather than shutting down, and packing up.
I encourage you to review your policies routinely each year with your agent but be aware right now just being covered is a privilege and we will get through this tough time.

🚨I’m posting this bc so many of us are affected If you’re insured with State Farm, Farmers, Nationwide etc. and you’re getting non-renewal notices, know that you’re not alone. Many of the major carriers in California are having to “reevaluate their risk”.

Leilani Lopez began her career in Insurance & Financial services in 2007 with a brand new baby, new house and new husband. In 2015 Leilani was invited to partner in a new independent agency with Herrera Insurance & Financial Services, Inc., incorporating in 2017 to HIFs Inc. In 2017 we merged with Alameda Associates and grew our agency size and markets. We now specialize in Business Commercial with 50+ years of experience in Non-profits, HOA's, as well as Travel & Tour. In 2023 Leilani Lopez earned the title of CEO and runs two successful offices with multi-line writing capabilities. In that time our agency has grown from 1m to 5m, an admirable in this competitive industry and changing market.

Being a Chicana woman in the Financial industry I want to be an example to all Latina woman in business. Having two babies and having to restart my career, never having the chance to obtain my degree its not come without challenges. I want to be a testament that Latina woman are a force, we are capable of achieving greatness and there is a place for us at the top.

Born and raised in California's Bay Area and a mother of two boys, Leilani lives a very active lifestyle. When she is not spectating at her son's baseball or flag football games, she enjoys hiking with her adopted cattle dog, "Checo", kickboxing and yoga. And has recently enrolled in Golden Gate University as an undergraduate working towards her Bachelors of Science in Business degree.
