Great turn out today for the Savvy Senior Seminar on Downsizing!
We had 50+ attendees and I was seriously impressed with the top-tier quality of the panelists.
One attendee told me “it was nice to have the steps to downsizing explained in such a simple way. It wasn’t as scary as I thought the process might be.” That really stuck with me. What a win! 😊
Here are some of my takeaways:
When your home is too big, too expensive, too much work, and/or too far from family it’s time to consider selling your home.
Before you start remodeling to get your home ready to sell, get your Realtor’s opinion on what it needs to really shine on the market today.
But, before you spend a penny on those updates, get a home inspection. That’ll tell you what lurks beneath the surface that needs attention. Nothing worse than ripping a new bathroom floor up because you didn’t realize there was a problem underneath 🙇🏻♀️
You’ll probably need at least four professionals to get started: a Realtor, a Home Inspector, a Stager, and a Mover.
Curious about, or seriously considering, downsizing for yourself or a loved one?
