Sunday Maintenance Tip: "Protecting Your Playground"🚤🚐
Happy Sunday!
Before you depart for Eufaula Lake, Hudson Lake, Grand Lake, or connect your trailer for a week at Ft Gibson Lake, please take 15 minutes to review this checklist.
Proactive maintenance not only ensures your safety on the water or road but also helps prevent accidents that can lead to insurance claims and increased premiums.
For the Boat (Bass & Crappie Rigs):
* Bilge Pump: Ensure it is free of debris. A malfunctioning pump is a leading cause of sinking at the dock.
* Fuel Lines: Inspect for cracks or softening. Ethanol can corrode older lines, posing a significant fire risk.
* Transom: Tighten the motor bolts. Loose mounts can lead to structural damage that may not be covered by some policies if deemed “neglect.”
For the RV & Camper:
* Roof Seal: Check for cracks in the sealant around vents and air conditioning units. Water damage is the primary cause of reduced resale value for RVs.
* Tire Pressure & Dry Rot: Inspect for sidewall cracking. Tire blowouts on the highway often result in substantial damage to the wheel well.
* Rodent Patrol: Ensure storage bays are sealed. Chewed wiring is a common (and costly) insurance claim during the spring.
Pro-Tip: Take a brief video walk-around of your boat or RV today! Having a time-stamped “before” record is invaluable if you ever need to file a claim.
