It was fascinating hearing about medical student Xue Jiao's journey from Chengdu, China, to school and marriage in Singapore, then to her husband's home state of Arkansas before landing at NSU in Tahlequah, and now OU Medical School. She connected with Rotary President Dr. David Good when she and his wife, Dr. Ana Good, became naturalized citizens at a ceremony in Muskogee.

📌Just a quick note regarding Oklahoma’s minimum liability insurance limit requirement of 25/50/25. That last number represents $25,000 for property damage.
💰I just read the Average Used-Vehicle Retail Price is $29,488 according to JD Power.
👮‍♀️What’s that mean in layman’s terms? If you are found “At-Fault” the most your insurance company would do is write a check for $25,000 & walk away.
💰You would be responsible for any amount exceeding $25,000. Now, Google the Average New Retail Price!

Donna Hunt Moore & I had a great time at the Ducks Unlimited The Wagoner Chapter Dinner last night. We were fortunate to be the winning bidder of the 2026 Artist of the Year print "LIFT" by Stephany Chavez-Kuchera -- the first woman to be named Artist of the Year. A blue-winged teal springing off the water. She is an Elementary Art Teacher and a DU Committee Member of Brazos County since she was 19-yrs-old. .
We also took home "Storms Will Pass" by Chuck Black.

(1) What's the purpose of the bond? The Veteran Affairs Custodian Bond is a type of surety bond required by the Veterans Administration when a beneficiary (Veteran & his/her dependents) has a third party (fiduciary) manage its VA benefits. A beneficiary is a person who receives benefits from the VA, while a fiduciary is someone who is appointed by the court to supervise a beneficiary who has been deemed incapable of handling their own benefits. Since the Veteran (beneficiary) is vulnerable and cannot make legal decisions on his/her own, it is crucial that the Veteran is protected by a bond.
(2) Once the Veteran & the third party to managing funds has been processed through the Department of Veterans Affairs Fiduciary Intake Center, an official letter will be delivered to the Veteran stating: "The "VA determined that a surety bond is necessary to protect your VA funds under management."
(4) A VA Custodian Bond is required if the beneficiary’s estate is greater than $20,000.00.
(5) Simply present this information to us and we will begin the process of obtaining a bond for YOUR protection. The bond amount is set by the VA Administration, not the surety company. Bond amount is the amount of coverage the surety company will pay out to the party harmed if a claim is filed against the bond.

Trooper Gary Hightower #251 issued these citations during a seatbelt enforcement shift this week.

One driver received more than a seatbelt citation. Trooper Hightower observed the driver not wearing a seatbelt and driving with both hands on a cellphone instead of on the steering wheel. The driver admitted he was texting a customer to let them know he was on the way.

The distracted driving citation carries a significantly higher fine than the seatbelt citation, but both violations put lives at risk.

Distracted driving continues to be a growing problem on our roadways. A text message can wait. Buckle up, keep your eyes on the road, and keep your hands on the wheel. Making safe choices helps protect you, your passengers, and everyone else traveling the road.
