I am currently on a plane headed to Nashville for a SWBC Mortgage Corporation Sales Rally! I’m so excited! These trips energize me and my team to work harder and with better direction for the people we get to serve! Keeping the right frame of mind, re-energizei g our spirit and hanging out with family is important! Part of this rally is to award our colleagues for a job well done!

DON’T YOU LOVE to be praised for a job well done? From parents to corporations, we’re discovering the value of rewarding people for doing good work. In fact, many offices have forms employees can fill out to give applause where it’s due.
Just hearing that someone else has noticed we’ve accomplished a feat well not only encourages us to work harder but also often makes the work we’ve done seem worth the effort.

“Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities. Let’s celebrate together!”
Matthew 25:21

Here we see two promises. The more obvious one is that if we are dependable in the smaller tasks God gives us, he’ll bless us with more challenges and opportunities.
The second promise is that we can also count on God to notice. Even if a job is so small that no one else would notice what we did, God sees it. He celebrates even our smaller accomplishments with us. And he seems to appreciate them.
Today, keep fulfilling with excellence the small responsibilities God has given you. Know that they’re significant in his Kingdom. And enjoy celebrating your successes with him. Cheers to a GREAT week with my work family!

Keep Moving Forward!

Lou Holtz, legendary college football coach, once said, “I can’t believe that God put us on this earth to be ordinary.” I agree wholeheartedly with Coach Holtz. You were put on this earth not to be ordinary but to be extraordinary!
Proverbs 4:23 states, “Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.”

Remember, you were put on this earth to be extraordinary, so I want to challenge you to guard your heart. Your heart is the totality of your mind, will, emotions, and expectations. In the Scriptures, your heart represents the depth of your gut or inner bowels. Sounds gross, doesn’t it?
In life, there will be moments when you are so disappointed that your gut actually aches. These moments of deep pain happen when you realize the depth of your mistakes or when someone hurts you to your core.
These moments happen with disappointment and when you come up short on a goal you have been pursuing. It is critical that you don’t allow these moments to define you and keep you down. In other words, when these gut-wrenching moments take place, do everything you can to not become embittered by them. Remember, your heart is the wellspring of your life. If it gets polluted, then your life will get bogged down. If you get bogged down, then you will fear moving forward. If you fear moving forward, you will never become the man you were created to be. So, if you want to be more than ordinary, begin and continue by guarding your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.
