Scrolling social media makes buying things feel effortless. The ads look professional, the videos are convincing, and the deals seem too good to pass up. But not everything that looks legit actually is.

Alex thought he was getting a pair of Ray-Bans from an ad he saw on TikTok… instead, he got this. 😬

A polished ad doesn’t guarantee a trustworthy business.

Before clicking “Buy Now,” take a minute to check a few things:
• Is the website secure and professional?
• Are there real customer reviews outside of the ad?
• Does the company have contact information and a return policy?
• Are the prices unrealistically low?

Scammers and low-quality sellers know how to create urgency and trust through social media marketing. Taking a few extra minutes to research a company can save you money, frustration, and the headache of dealing with fraud later.
