A good reminder from the Wisconsin DOT...

When it comes to merging for lane closures, there are some misconceptions out there. The truth is this - using all lanes until the merge point, and then zipper merging, will help us all get where we’re going more efficiently. The zipper merge can reduce traffic backups by as much as 40%.

Why is there a dividend? Because our costs were not as great as we expected, and because State Farm is a mutual insurance company rather than a stock company, the dividend goes to our policyholders, not to shareholders. It's just one more advantage to being a State Farm policyholder.
