Every year, we’re reminded just how many people are willing to lend a hand, share their time, and help make our neighborhoods stronger.

We’re making one last call for those interested in serving on our Board of Directors, an opportunity to help craft our future.

But if board service isn’t the right fit, don’t worry, there are many ways to get involved.

From community events to education efforts to local outreach, we have several volunteer opportunities coming up this year. It’s a chance to meet new people, support your neighbors, and make a meaningful difference.

If you’ve been looking for a way to plug in, we’d love to have you join us in whatever way feels right.

We’re excited to share that we’ve added a new Floating MSR (Member Service Representative) position to our growing team, with more opportunities opening soon.

This role helps:
✅ Support our branches across the Northland
✅ Work directly with the people who make our communities feel like home

History in the Making at Rock Ridge High School! 🌎🏒

Rock Ridge Indigenous Education, in partnership with Rock Ridge High School, is proud to announce something truly special — the first-ever high school hockey games in the nation to be broadcast in Ojibwe.

This is more than a game. It’s about connection — connecting students, families, language, culture, and community. At Rock Ridge, Our School, Our Responsibility means honoring who we are, where we come from, and creating spaces where all cultures are seen, valued, and celebrated.

💬 Principal Manni shared:

“The credit for this event goes to our Indigenous Education Director, Maria Poderzay. It is because of her vision and leadership that an event like this will happen.”

We are incredibly proud to be part of a moment that blends tradition, language revitalization, student leadership, and school pride — all while cheering on Wolverine hockey. 💚🖤

🎉 We Have a Winner! 🎉

Thank you to everyone who shared their favorite holiday traditions with us—you made this season brighter with your stories! After an incredible round of engagement, Finalist #5: Amanda Zakrajshek, has officially won our Favorite Holiday Tradition contest!

Her tradition is a beautiful one: piling into her dad’s pickup as a little girl to drive around and admire Christmas lights, a tradition that grew to include Bentleyville, her younger brother, and now her own kids (and whenever possible, their beloved papa). It’s a memory that spans generations and keeps the magic of the season alive. ❤️✨🎄

🏆 As the winner, she choose Angel Fund to receive a $500 donation from NorthRidge Community Credit Union!

Every new chapter begins with the pages that came before.

In December 1977, our original location was just a dream taking shape, a small building, big hopes, and a community that believed in us. Those walls held more than offices; they held conversations, and the start of lifelong relationships.

Nearly five decades later, we’ve grown and evolved, but the heart of who we are hasn’t changed. We still carry the same values that were poured into that foundation all those years ago and a commitment to the people who make our community strong.

As we step into this new year, we pause to honor where we began and the people who walked this journey with us. Here’s to the past that shaped us and the future we’ll build together. 💚

the Final finalist shares a beautiful, long‑standing family tradition. Ever since she was a little girl, her family would pile into her dad’s pickup and spend the night driving around to admire all the beautiful Christmas lights. When Bentleyville began, they made sure to bring her much younger little brother so he could be part of the magic too.

Now, she continues the tradition with her own children—and whenever he’s able, her dad joins as well, so her kids can experience those same moments with their papa. It remains one of her most cherished memories with her dad, and a tradition she’s proud to pass on. ❤️✨🎄
