Motherhood has changed a lot about the way I look at homeownership.

Now that I’m a mom of TWO, I think about home a little differently. It’s not just about bedrooms, square footage, or finding the “perfect” house.

It’s about the neighborhood you want your kids to grow up in. The kitchen where you’ll make a thousand meals. The backyard where they’ll run around. The monthly payment that still lets you enjoy the life happening inside those four walls.

And somehow, between bottles, bedtime routines, and all the beautiful chaos of raising two little ones, I’m still helping families navigate mortgages every day.

I get that buying a home is about so much more than numbers.

It’s about building a life.

And that’s exactly why I love what I do.

If you’re ready for a change of scenery, save this list for your next long weekend:

🌊 Cape Charles| ~1 hour
Beach days, golf carts, cute shops, seafood, and sunset. The perfect low-key coastal escape.

🏛️ Richmond | ~1.5 hours
A great option for a quick city getaway with restaurants, breweries, museums, and plenty to explore along the James River.

🍷 Charlottesville| ~3 hours
W**e country, beautiful scenery, incredible restaurants, and the perfect excuse to book a cozy weekend stay.

🐴 Chincoteague & Assateague| ~1.5–2 hours
Wild ponies, beaches, seafood, and a slower pace. Especially fun for a family weekend.

🏔️ Shenandoah National Park| ~3.5 hours
Trade the beach for the mountains with scenic overlooks, hiking trails, waterfalls, and some seriously beautiful views.

🎢 Williamsburg | ~1 hour
Close enough for an easy overnight trip and packed with options for families, history lovers, foodies, and anyone who wants a little Busch Gardens fun.

September 11, 2001 is a day we will never forget.

For me, 9/11 carries an especially personal weight. I’m a military wife, and I have the privilege of being part of a community that continues to serve, protect, and sacrifice for this country every single day.

Today, I’m remembering the lives lost, the families forever changed, the first responders who ran toward danger, and the generations of service members who answered the call in the years that followed.

We remember. We honor. We are grateful.

It’s less about packed schedules and perfect plans, and more about soaking up the little moments. The messy ones, the loud ones, the ones I know I’ll wish I could relive someday.
