In July we had our annual AAC conference trip. This year we went to the mile high city, Denver, Colorado!! This year I brought along my sister, Dea, she lives in New York, so we don’t get to see each other often. She got to be in the crowd, and it was an honor to be recognized for my hard work and dedication. I am so proud of all that I have achieved, this was my best year yet, I started 35 new families on their financial journey! We spent the week exploring the city between presentations, laughing, and making great memories. I was happy to introduce her to all my friends and coworkers and give her a firsthand look at what First Command is all about. They brought in an incredible motivational speaker, Jon Dorenbos, and we walked away with a new understanding of hard work and doing our very best with the cards that are dealt to us! The farewell event at the Bronco’s Stadium was epic! It was so much fun celebrating the successes of not only the company but also the other Advisors. Great job everyone and thank you First Command, it’s truly an honor to serve clients on their journey!!

Financial Tip Tuesday!

If you're reviewing your savings strategy, it may be worth comparing a traditional savings account with a high-yield savings account. A high-yield savings account may offer a higher APY (annual percentage yield) than a traditional savings account. APY represents the amount of interest an account could earn over one year.

Before making any changes, consider:

• The APY offered compared to your current account
• Minimum balance requirements
• Any fees or account restrictions

Reviewing your savings options periodically can help ensure your account aligns with your financial goals. If you have questions, feel free to contact me at 757-772-0506.

When preparing to leave the military, your VA disability claim may be top of mind. Life insurance may not be.

Understanding how these two areas intersect can help you evaluate your options and better prepare for your next chapter.

Financial tip Tuesday!!!
TSP 101
If you are in the military understanding your Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) is an important part of understanding your overall retirement benefits.
Where do you start?
Know your contribution - How much are you putting into your TSP?
Know your account type - Understand the difference between Traditional and Roth contributions.
Know your funds - learn what your TSP is invested in and how the different fund options work.
Know your BRS benefits - Understand how your match and the continuation pay work.
Your TSP is your retirement account. Take some time to understand how it works and how it fits into your bigger financial picture.

First Command Financial Services, Inc. and its related entities are not affiliated with, authorized to sell or represent on behalf of or otherwise endorsed by any federal employee benefits programs referenced, by the U.S. government, or the U.S. Armed Forces. TSP funds have very low administrative and investment expenses and, low expenses can have a positive effect on the rate of return of your investment.

I bought a new car!! Once I saw this orange beauty, I knew it had to be mine!

Are you in the market for a new vehicle? A quick tip is knowing it’s okay to slow down and ask questions. A car is a major purchase and knowing all the numbers can really help you make an informed decision. Here are some important questions to ask when at the dealership.

What is the out-the-door price? Ask them the full price, including taxes, fees, and any add-ons.

What fees and add-ons are included and what are optional?

What will the interest rate and my monthly payment be? Look at the APR and total amount financed, not just the monthly payment.

Trading in your old vehicle? Ask for the value separately from the price of the new vehicle.

What does the warranty cover? Know what’s included how long the coverage lasts and what isn’t covered.

Are there any time sensitive offers or incentives? If so ask for the details in writing so you can review them.

This summer, we had the pleasure of welcoming Uriel to our team as an intern, and we are so grateful for everything he accomplished!

Uriel took on projects that had been sitting on our “someday” list for far too long. One of his biggest accomplishments was going through our database person by person and updating every appointment after we implemented a new system—a HUGE undertaking that made a tremendous difference for our team!

Now in his second year as a finance major, Uriel hopes to pursue a career as an advisor or wealth manager. While he may be quiet and reserved, we have no doubt that with experience and confidence, he will become an excellent finance professional.

Thank you, Uriel, for all your hard work this summer! We are so glad to have been a small part of your journey and wish you nothing but the best as you continue your education and career. We’ll be cheering you on!
