Before you say you’re ready to file ⬇️
REASONS….
You must check if you have a form 1095-A before you file your taxes:
1. Your tax return can be rejected
If you had health insurance through the Marketplace, Form 1095-A is required to complete your tax return correctly. If it's missing, your return can be rejected or delayed by the Internal Revenue Service.
2. Your return cannot be e-filed without it. If advance premium tax credits were paid on your behalf, your tax return cannot be submitted electronically unless the 1095-A information is entered and reconciled.
3. You may owe money back. If your income was higher than what you estimated when you enrolled, you may have to repay part or all of the premium tax credit. Filing without the 1095-A can cause incorrect results and surprise balances later.

Log into your Marketplace account
Download your Form 1095-A
And give it to your tax preparer…. 😉
