Houston Family, What to do if you have Home Damage?

Here are three quick tips for filing your insurance claims:

1 . Document and Mitigate Damage: Take detailed photos and videos of all damage to your property. Try to mitigate further damage if it’s safe to do so. This will help support your claim and prevent additional losses.

2. Get a Professional Assessment: Arrange for a professional to assess the damage. Remember, insurance adjusters are there to evaluate the damage, not fix it. Having a detailed report from a professional can expedite your claim process.

3. Understand Your Deductible: Familiarize yourself with your wind and hail deductible. The standard is often around 2%, meaning some of us homeowners have a deductible of over $9000 before claims are paid. Knowing this can help you plan for the next storm!
